Corporate Philanthropy

Community Involvement is a long-standing company objective. For more than 15 years, our company and its employees have contributed thousands of dollars and many hours of volunteer time to improve the communities where we live and work. Investment in our communities is just one of many ways SGK demonstrates our commitment to being a good corporate citizen.

At SGK, we make it a priority to contribute to a wide range of charitable programs and events. Some highlights of the programs and organizations SGK supports are:

Loudoun Soccer - Loudoun Soccer, established in 1978, provides recreational and travel soccer programs to the Loudoun County community. Starting as a volunteer organization, Loudoun Soccer has grown to become the largest soccer club in the state of Virginia with over 16,000 players from ages 3 to 18 registered annually with over 30 programs for these players. As the club has grown, it has continued to promote the values of sportsmanship, integrity and safety, always dedicated to our philosophy, Developing Champions for Life!
Children’s HopeChest - Children’s HopeChest connects Christian communities in the U.S. and Canada with impoverished communities of orphans overseas. This unique “community-to-community” sponsorship leverages the power of one community of Christians making a long-term, transformational impact on a community of orphans and vulnerable children. Ultimately, these relationships and resources empower orphans to survive, thrive, and succeed within their home culture.
Hope Ranch - Look Development of Ethiopia is founded and directed by Yemisirachkeab and Tesfatsion Tsegaye and Ethiopian brother and sister who looked at the desperate need of the children of Ethiopia and allowed God to develop the response. In that love they have taken orphans into their care and are working to develop a community development project and orphanage. Hope Ranch of Montana is partnering with them in this effort.
Young Life - We believe in the power of presence. Kids' lives are dramatically influenced when caring adults come alongside them, sharing God's love with them. Because their Young Life leader believes in them, they begin to see that their lives have great worth, meaning and purpose. This is the first step of a lifelong journey; the choices they make today, based upon God's love for them, will have an impact on future decisions — careers chosen, marriages formed and families raised — all ripples from the time when a Young Life leader took time to reach out and enter their world.
Awakenings Ministries - While reading The Purpose Driven Life (Rick Warren), Paul & Danielle Reid and Mike & Jennifer Stansbury felt God leading them to something more than just "everyday life". They looked for a way to make an impact in the community. With help from God and a great group of awesome friends, the festival was created in 2003. Awakening Music Festival is a contemporary Christian music festival held in Northern Virginia. Its purpose is to provide a day of fun and fellowship for everyone who comes. Our goal is to introduce teens to Christ through the music, artists and the speakers.
Leadercast - Leadercast provides exceptional leadership development and networking opportunities for leaders in Loudoun County. Leadercast is the perfect intersection of our mission to serve the children of Greenlight and our desire to see leaders raised up to serve others in all walks of life. We are so thankful for your support and we are pleased to let you know that by attending Leadercast this year you will help us to build a kitchen for Greenlight that will provide meals for the 80+ kids that attend Greenlight daily.
Junior Achievement - JA Personal Finance explores the fundamental elements of personal finances: earnings, saving and investing, budgeting, credit, risk management, and giving. Students apply these elements to a personal financial plan that allows them to set specific goals for their lifelong financial needs and desired quality of life. (Grades 9-12)
Blue Ridge Speech & Hearing – Our audiologists and therapists are professional staff that are licensed and certified within their respective fields. All clinical staff possess Master’s and/or Doctorate degrees as are required by law to provide speech, occupational therapy and audiological services. We provide quality assessment and treatment; and when needed, we offer discounted or subsidized services for people with speech, language, hearing, developmental and motor skill challenges. Blue Ridge Speech & Hearing Center is the only nonprofit providing the combined services of Audiology, speech therapy and occupational therapy to Loudoun County’s residents in need.
Loudoun Crime Commission - The Loudoun Crime Commission is a non-profit, charitable, membership organization, and is open to any concerned citizen, local business, educational institute, or government agency and is focused on crime prevention and reduction in our community. We believe that "Fighting crime is every citizens business!" and have made this our motto. The Commission plays a special role within the Loudoun County community by supporting law enforcement and other organizations with anti-crime initiatives through its community based support. This support includes enhancing direct communications between citizens and law enforcement through social networking programs, luncheons, and other events with law enforcement, business, citizens, media and government agency involvement.
Wharton Club - The Wharton Club of Washington, D.C., is a leader among its peers. Founded in 1968, the Club provides a forum in the Nation's Capital area for alumni and alumnae of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Ours was one of the first clubs in the worldwide Wharton Alumni Network, and has consistently been one of the most active, dynamic and among the largest. We are committed to providing you with the best resources available for networking, professional growth and enjoyable social and cultural events.
United Way - United Way Worldwide is the leadership and support organization for the network of nearly 1,800 community-based United Ways in 45 countries and territories. We envision a world where all individuals and families achieve their human potential through educationincome stability and healthy lives. To advance the common good and mobilize the caring power of communities around the world,
Girl Scouts - At Girl Scouts we are a family, connected by our mission to build girls of courage, confidence and character, who make the world a better place. We count on every adult to support this amazing volunteer organization. Together, as a family, we can help girls get started on a path to a future filled with success.
Boy Scouts - The Boy Scouts of America is one of the nation's largest and most prominent values-based youth development organizations. The BSA provides a program for young people that builds character, trains them in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and develops personal fitness. For over a century, the BSA has helped build the future leaders of this country by combining educational activities and lifelong values with fun. The Boy Scouts of America believes — and, through over a century of experience, knows — that helping youth is a key to building a more conscientious, responsible, and productive society.
Loudoun Symphony - The Loudoun Symphony was formed as the Loudoun Community Orchestra (LCO) in the fall of 1990 to provide musicians from Loudoun County and the surrounding area with the opportunity to play and present fine orchestra music to county audiences. The LCO gave its inaugural concert in March 1991 to nearly 1,000 people at Loudoun County High School. The performance ensembles and educational outreach programs have grown steadily in size and artistic quality over the years. John is currently an honorary board member.
Build One Buy One - Build a home, change a life. For every custom home built in Northern Virginia, Brush Arbor will build a home in a Third World country for a family in need. They work with various organizations that have teams in place to to the labor. Their hope is by seeing how few resource it requires to make life-changing differences, all of us will enjoy the blessing and in turn, be inspired to find ways to give back
